For our site at the Chemelot location in Geleen, we are looking for a

Senior Chemical Engineer (m/f/x, full-time)

As a Senior Chemical Engineer at ARLANXEO, you will identify improvement opportunities in the quality, capacity, cost, and compliance of our EPDM rubber products and production process. You will write business cases, implement them yourself, or support the project team. Additionally, you will perform technological troubleshooting activities to support production in case of major issues.

The Role

  • Participate in and lead brainstorming sessions and RCA’s to determine causes and alternative solutions.
  • Develop functional scopes for improvement actions.
  • For smaller changes, act as project leader, ensuring implementation and proactively involving other disciplines.
  • In larger projects, fulfill the user role and assist in realizing the business case.
  • Serve as a technological intermediary and knowledge holder in the areas of compliance and process safety.
  • Perform second-line technological troubleshooting and support production with your process expertise.
  • Keep your knowledge up to date, share it, and coach fellow engineers on both content and approach.

Your Profile

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in process technology.
  • You have at least 5 to 10 years of work experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • You connect theoretical knowledge with practice, always have your plant knowledge ready (both design and operational), and think ahead. You think in scenarios when the situation calls for it.
  • You connect manufacturing with engineering disciplines.
  • You have experience in conducting technical and operational feasibility studies and root cause analyses (e.g., RCA/UCA, Tripod) and risk analysis (e.g., PRA, TRA, FMEA, HAZOP).
  • You work proactively and independently and have strong communication skills. You enjoy working in a team and like to take on a coaching role.
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages.
